To be 4 years old again

This is a conversation overheard between Brie and 2 of her friends. They were playing and Destiny accidentally stepped on Sadie. She kind of started playing away from Destiny & Brielle because of it and then they went over to her. This is how the conversation went:

Sadie: "Well, you shouldn't have stepped on me."

Brielle: "It was just an accident Sadie."

Destiny: "Yeah, I didn't mean to."

Sadie: "You still shouldn't step on me, Jesus wouldn't like that."

Destiny: "It was an accident."

Brielle: "That's why it's a miracle."

Destiny: "Yeah."

Sadie: "Ok, let's play mommy & baby now."

Brielle: "You're not the boss you know."

Sadie: "I know, but you aren't either. Jesus is."

Brielle: "Yeah, but you know our mom and dads are too."

Destiny: "Yeah, they are the boss too. Because you know, God is our dad. He's everyone's dad. That's what my mom & dad said."

Sadie: "Nooo, he's not our dad...(with a chuckle)."

Destiny: "Yeah, my mom & dad say that God is everybody's dad, he is."

Sadie: "Oh, yeah he is."

Brielle: "Yeah he is."

Can I tell you how much I love this boy?

Rigdon Ash
3 Month pics!

Rigdon is ALMOST rolling over!

Rigdon is making lots of noises and loves to be heard.

Rigdon rarely smiles when he first wakes up. After he is fed, he wont stop smiling. He likes his food. His smile make all of us so happy we giggle.

Rigdon poops 3-5 times a day. (So much more than the girls)

Rigdon sleeps through the night. We put him down between 9-10 and he wakes up between 6-8.

Rigdon will only fall asleep with a blanket up by his face and his binky.

Rigdon is already a ladies man!

They were holding hands all by themselves. We did not stage this. What did I tell ya? He is already putting the moves on her. Luckily she is cute...not to mention we love her mom and dad!

Rigdon makes the whole family so happy. He fits so well.

"It's just a joke silly!"

This morning we were eating popsicles in bed. I read my joke to brie:

"Why do quarters flip higher than any other coin"

Josh said "WHY?"

"Because there is an eagle on it!"

Brielle says ok I have one:

"Why do dollar bills fly higher than any other dollar bill?"

I said "WHY?"

"because there is 100 birds on it. haha!" then she laughed.

I said "but there's not really"

without missing a beat sh said

"it's just a joke silly!"

That was funnier than her actual joke, josh and I cracked up.

Girls (and rigs) just wanna have fun!

WOW! We started off our nonstop fun last Friday. We had the downing and Wilborns over for dinner and a little Easter family night. The kids were singing and dancing along with a video it was really cute.

We decorated our little brother! Oh the things he puts up with....poor little guy is very loved!

(I have to document this so he can get them back when he is bigger than them!)

Saturday Morning we had a Law wife Easter breakfast and Easter egg hunt. We had yummy food and the kids got lots of yummy candy. Here are the ladies that put it together... Most of the Law wives board.
Sunday was so great. We got to have church in our jammies, and eat lots of candy. We then had a little picnic lunch with some friends. It was fantastic.

Monday we had to throw in a little responsibility and go to the dentist to get a cavity filled and a tooth pulled. Both girls did GREAT! Brielles tooth was touching her permanent tooth, but she didn't mind. She was happy for the tooth fairy to come again. She got $5 and when we went to the store she wanted to buy Hope something too. They ended up finding barbies on sale for $5 so she bought two of them for her and Hope! (I know that it doesn't really add up 2 five dollar babies = $10, but it was sweet that she wanted to buy one for Hope!)

We then came home and found an invitation to a tea party. So of course we put on our pretty dresses and went to the tea party.

And since my kids associate the dentist with the castle park we had to go there because they did so good getting their teeth drilled!

We had some friends meet us there. The playground part of the park was actually closed, but that didn't ruin our day...we played in the trees and ate lunch at the picnic tables.
Tuesday we headed to the beach and it was BEAUTIFUL! It was perfect weather not to hot but still hot enough. The water was COLD but the kids didn't care! I LOVE beach pics so there are alot!

When we were trying to get this picture the water came in and touched rigdons feet. He was so sad. He screamed, and cried, and me being a good Mommy, laughed.

It was Rigdons first time at the beach. He did pretty good and slept most of the time.

All the ladies hangin out while our husband are stuck in the library! There are perks to being stay at home moms!

Wednesday we went to a birthday party at Chuck-e-cheese! The girls were so happy and they had so much fun. After that we went to the mall and bought flip-flops.

Thursday we hit the beach again! It wasn't quite as warm and it was REALLY windy! The kids still had fun. How can you not have fun at the beach?

All the kids buried Brielle!

My cute men in their matching hats!

With everything going on we have been quite exhausted and I think we have worn our poor little rigdon (who just gets dragged everywhere) right out! He reach a new record last night and slept a straight 12 hours! You know we LOVE that! It gives us more energy to play!

With all that has been going on my house has suffered. So I think tomorrow we will take a cleaning break! AWWW SHUCKS!

Seriously?

Today Brielle said:

"The Easter Bunny gets me everything you never let me get! I LOVE the Easter Bunny!"

This is one of those moments I want to pop her on the head and scream "HELLO TELL ME THANK YOU! TELL ME YOU LOVE ME!"

Rigdon's Special Day!

We blessed Rigdon last Sunday, March 28th. It was such a wonderful day. He got to wear the same little blessing outfit Josh wore, which was so special to me. I couldn't help but picture him as a baby in this same outfit. We were surrounded by all of our friends out here. I am so thankful for their support.

"Hey, notice anything different 'bout my bike?"

It was an exhilarating day. A bonding moment. I will never forget the look on her face, and how proud she was of herself. She simply asked me to help her ride Destiny's bike (which had the training wheels off) and climbed on, and was off. I would run next to her and she would say "focus, focus, ok let go!" I wish so badly Josh was there to see it. She couldn't wait to show him.

The next morning she was in our room bright and early begging her daddy to take her training wheel off. Off they went and off she went!

"Hey Luke, notice anything different about my bike?"

I LOVE DIRT!

If you compared this post to THIS one, you would laugh! Boy have I have come a long way....and I've learned to appreciated the joy of DIRT! Why?

Because it keeps my little Hope entertained for HOURS

I even love when they come in COVERED! It means the WEATHER is WARM, and they are outside playing!

BUT, nobody knows how to play in the mud quite like Hope. She manages to get EVERY INCH of herself DIRTY! She just LOVES it that much!

Rigdons surgery

WOW! What an eventful three days. First off the history. Rigdon has had goopy eyes, that I assumed were eye infections on and off in both eyes since he was born. About a week ago he got a hard red lump under his right eye. I just kind of assumed it would go away and wasn't too worried about it. Wednesday he was pretty fussy and wouldn't let me put him down. This is not like him. He also wouldn't sleep without me right next too him. Once again, not like him. I was really worried about his ears so I took him to the pediatrician. They took one look at his eye and sent me straight to an eye doctor.

Here is a picture of the bump. It was really hard when you touched it. The eye doctor used a lot of technical terms but in mommy terms there is a tube that goes from our tear ducts and drains through our nose. His was blocked. He tried to push it out in the office and he said it wouldn't budge and he would need surgery. So we scheduled the surgery for the next day, Friday. It was his 2 month birthday.

Seriously look at this little gown. I cannot get enough. He looked so sweet in it. This is before the surgery getting ready. There is nothing like handing your 8 week old baby off to strangers to be poked and prodded. He was oblivious which made it easier, and harder. But at least he wasn't clinging to me and screaming.

The surgery went well. He ended up having 3 different places where it was blocked on the right eye, and one place on the left eye. The doctor basically said we were lucky it was so bad and we caught it early because it saved us a lot of sickness in the long run. I guess it causes lots of infections with ears and sinuses. He was so sweet waking up he just slept and snuggled right into me.

Believe it or not the day of his surgery he was smiling all day for the first time. He would win the nurses hearts by flashing them a smile. Even the Doctors couldn't resist an "awww" when he smiled at them. His nurse that took care of him yesterday and today started referring to him as her baby. She would brag to the other nurses "my baby is so good, he never cries. I have been with him on 2 shifts now, and only heard him cry when we pulled the iv out." She loved him.

Oh, I couldn't resist. I love that sweet tushy and I love that adorable hospital gown. It was just too much.
We were in the hospital over night and most of the next day. It gave me a whole new perspective on parents with really sick kids. We were in the infant part and I could hear little babies just screaming. It was so sad. I loved how teeny tiny he looked in the bed. He was a trooper and seems to be doing fine. He is a little more fussy than usual, but overall good.
