One of the MANY reasons I love this man!

I was in the bath tub the other night and Josh came into talk to me. I spend a lot of time in the bath tub so this is not a rare occurrence. Brielle had a green balloon blown up on the bathroom floor. He started kind of hitting it around and I was just waiting for it to end up in the water. Before I knew it he was holding it under and watching it pop up. He then turned to me and said "I wonder what will happen if I pop this under the water?"
I just kind of laughed and shrugged it off, but he couldn't! He couldn't stop thinking about it! He had to know. He then proceeded to grab one of my earrings, hold the balloon under the water and pop it. Water gushed straight up towards him in a huge wave and all him and the floor. He was drenched. We laughed so hard and he thought it was pretty incredible how much water splashed up. I love his mind and how he just had to know what would happen so he had to do it. Thanks for giving me a good laugh baby!

Law wives Progressive Dinner!

We had the Law wives progressive dinner a couple of nights ago. It is always so much fun and probably the biggest event of the year!

December, January, February ( yes Lan and I are fully aware that Jan. and Feb. are bigger than Dec.) , March, April, May, May, June! Yes we have at least one in every month until June.

Brielle's missing tooth!

My little four year old lost her first tooth. She seems so little to loose it already! We were just driving and I looked back and she was doing something weird with her mouth and had a little smudge of blood. Her and Hope had been kind of going at it so I asked her if Hope hit her mouth, she said no. Then we pulled up to the house and she said "Mom, my tooth just fell out!" she said it just fell into her hand. Weird!

She came rushing in and I was still unloading all of our stuff, she set the tooth down and lost it. She was traumatized saying "Now the tooth fairy will never come." That started all the drama. She kept saying she wanted her tooth back in her mouth because it felt funny. She said it hurt. I asked her if she wanted some Tylenol and she said yes. The she kept asking if the tooth fairy would bring her another tooth. Poor girl. We finally decided to draw a picture for the tooth fairy when we had searched the house and couldn't find her tooth.

She got five dollars from the tooth fairy and was thrilled. Josh told her she could go to the store and buy a Dora doll like Hope got for her birthday with her money. He said Mom and Dad would pay the extra. He sure knows how to spoil his princess. On the way to the store Brie was holding her five dollars and said "Hey mom I think this is the place where we went with Grandma and Grandpa." I didn't know what she was talking about and just said "Yeah, they came to see us." She said "No mom, on my five dollars this is the place we went with Grandma and Grandpa." I asked to see her money and sure enough it has Abraham Lincoln on it and the Lincoln Monument. She really learned something dragging her to all those history sites. I couldn't believe that she could put that together. Little smarty pants!

Peanut Butter Playdough!

We made Peanut butter playdough for preschool this week for the letter P! The kids LOVED it way more than I thought they would. It was so much fun. It is a definite must do on a cold winter day!
Here is the recipe:

1 cup peanut butter
2/3 - 1 cup nonfat dry milk
2 tbsp. Honey

mix together. Add enough milk so that playdough is dry enough to handle. Add in raisins, chocolate chips, cherrios. Add chow mein noodles to make a birds nest. Remember the kids can eat it too!

Halloween

We had a great Halloween with the cutest little lady bug and bumble bee around!





We went to a carnival with our neighbors the "Holy Ghost weeny roast!" I thought it was so funny when I found out that was what it was called. I thought only us Mormons came up with cheesy names like that, but I guess not. Seriously though it was a lot of fun. The girls got to ride the ponies and we danced, played games and of course ate hot dogs!


Hope was holding on for dear life! It was so funny as soon as she got on the Horse she clutched that horn so tight.I don't even know these kids but they were too funny not to get a picture of. One was dressed up as the medic and the others were all soldiers. They were doing a full on act in the middle of the field all in character and everything. It was hilarious.
We then headed to our trunk or treat, but it was dying down so we took the kids to a neighborhood and let them knock on doors. It was fun because it was like real Halloween. Hope was amazed and kept showing everyone her bucket saying "look! Candy!" She just couldn't believe all she had to do was "Trick or treat" (which by the way she says it so cute) and everyone would just give her candy.

We definitely had a great night. The weather was perfect and the kids were happy so we couldn't complain!

Touring VA......

Wednesday we headed to Jamestown Settlement to start seeing the sites. This was exciting because my Dad is a history buff and he was excited to see the everything.

By the big boats. Brielle was afraid to go on at first because of the pirates. When we assured her there were no pirates she was fine.

Then we headed to Yorktown victory center, where we saw more of kind of the same stuff, but I guess my Dad liked it better. We couldn't get him out of the museum.

The girls love that they could touch everything. And they did. This was a tent kind set up like at a camp.

We got to see the guns they used and how they fired them, and also a canon. It is incredible how long it takes to load those things and get a shot off. And after taking the time to load them they are not accurate at all, there is no way to aim.
Then on Friday we went to Williamsburg. Dad did not want to get in this to take the pic but we just couldn't miss this photo opt!
And I think I want to invest in one for time out!
Brielle thought it was so weird. I couldn't get over her face in this picture.

Brielle took this picture in the church. It was built so long ago and I am so sad it was closed when I went there with my Mother in law. She would have LOVED it. It had old plaques of all the people in history who had worshiped there. They still hold 4 sunday services. I thought that was pretty cool.
After Williamsburg we went to Yorktown Battlefield and just drove through the tour. This is the monument.



So, are you wondering what we did on our down time??? Well let me just say I have a VERY patient Dad. Because we were either shopping or home doing projects.

We got a new rug for my kitchen.....finally! The old ones were driving me crazy.

We got these couches a couple months ago and the pillows were HIDEOUS! My Mom, being the amazing woman she is recovered them for me. I love them!

We bought curtains!

And baskets for extra storage under my coffee table!

And we got this cute book, so we rearranged the top of the entertainment center! Loving it all!

My mom also made this witch boot for my door and we managed to get it up just in time for Halloween. Thanks again Mom....and Dad (for being so patient)! Thanks for all the help and thanks for coming we loved having you!

My Parents Are HERE! And our trip to DC!

We are so excited to have my parents here for the week. We started our trip off in Washington DC. My parents flew into Baltimore and stayed at a cousins and we met them there. We then got up and hit DC the next day. We started our journey at Arlington Cemetery.
It was GORGEOUS! I couldn't get over the thousands and thousands of grave sites. Incredible!
Don't ask what Hope was doing. Here is another picture of all the tombstones, because I was seriously in awe.
This is John F. Kennedy's Grave. When I walked up to Brie she told me that a mean man didn't like him and so he gave him a shot. I guess my mom had told her that a mean man didn't like him so he shot him. Funny how kids interpret things.


We walked up right in time to see the changing of the guards at the tomb of the unknown soldiers. It was really cool. I don't know if you can see but Brielle is copying the guard in the background. They click their heels together when they turn, and she was holding her flower like her gun and turning and walking and clicking her heels exactly like the soldier. It was really cute.
Then we went to Lincoln Memorial. It was fun to see the view of the capital building and Washington Monument in the background.
And he was HUGE! I had seen pictures before, but nothing prepared me for how big he was. The girls wanted to go up and touch him.
They then were climbing (more like running) up the ramp next to the stairs and then sliding down. People around thought this was really funny. I felt like a mom who couldn't control her kids. But they were so good the whole time that I couldn't complain too much.

We went to the air and space museum too, but I left my camera in the car. Just saving you from having to see more pictures! My favorite was seeing the exhibit on the Wright Brothers.

We finished off our trip with a trip to the temple. I am always so excited to go to the temple and always astounded by the beauty. It is so fascinating to me how beautiful and different EVERY temple I go to is. The landscape always fits with the scenery and it is always amazingly gorgeous.
My parents watched the girls for us and then brought them and met us. It was so fun for them to see the temple too. They loved the statue of Jesus, and loved feeling the marks in his feet.

I LOVED the color of the leaves that surrounded the temple. Our trees haven't changed colors quite yet, so it was fun to see. I am so happy my parents got to see it with the beautiful autumn leaves.

Yes, it true! My baby is 3!

Happy Birthday to our big 3 year old!

I let her pick out her cake from pictures online, and that is all she talked about for 3 days. When we asked her what she wanted for her b-day she would say "My Dora cake!" Oh, so easy to please! Needless to say she LOVED it.

She couldn't wait to blow out her candles. She knew what she was supposed to do and was ready. Throughout the song she kept getting her mouth ready and then about halfway through she couldn't wait any longer and blew them right out!

I went back and forth if I was going to have a party for her or not. At the last minute I send a text to our friends and I was overwhelmed with the amount of people who came over to help us celebrate our sweet Hope! I am so grateful for the friends we have made here. It is so great to have such a great support system. We love all of you dearly. I told little Hope that all these people were here because they loved her and she loved it. She felt so special. Thanks for making the day so sweet.

We took her Friday night on date night with us to pick out her present. It was so fun to let her pick whatever she wanted. She picked out this dress up and was dancing for everyone when she put it on.

She also picked out this Dora doll. She carried it around in the package for 2 days because we told her she had to wait to open it til her birthday. I think she was so excited to finally be able to snuggle it. I stole it from her in her sleep to get it wrapped.

To make the day even more special my brother and his wife had their little baby girl Kate on Hopes birthday. We are so excited for them and she is so sweet. Congrats Shane and Amanda! Here is to many more great Birthdays for Hope and Kate!
