Oh, the BIGGEST sister!

My little Brielley had quite the day. I had to run to the neighbors to take her carpet cleaner back...so I told Brie to make sure Rigdon didn't put anything in his mouth. Before you judge me for leaving my children, it wasn't long and Josh walked in the door right as I walked out. When he came in she said

"Dad! Mom left me in charge and she didn't even leave me a bottle can you believe it?"
She was exasperated by this. When I came home, she was filling a bottle up (with bottled water and all) and did it right to the 4. I asked her what she was doing and she said
"Making a bottle! Rigdon is hungry!"
I then watched her scoop out two scoops of powder (the right amount) put the lid on and shake it. I had no idea she knew how to do this. She must have seen us do it enough that she figured it out. We usually do 6 oz. but she said 4 was all the water we had.

I am still in shock! She loves her brother so much! When I was looking for a picture I found one of her and him in every folder. She is a great big sister!
Another Briellism...tonight Josh was telling her the story of the good Samaritan. He was explaining that even if we didn't have time we still should stop and help people, because that is what was important. This was her reply:

"Yeah, like if we're going to the store and it is going to close we can just stop and help and then go to the store that never closes! Cuz, you know there is a store that never closes!"

I love her!

AND I THOUGHT CRAWLING WAS SAD.....

a week later he started doing this! ENOUGH SAID!

Ballet 2010

The girls started ballet. This year there was no way we could keep this little lady from doing it. She was so excited. I am so grateful for the babysitting job I got so that we could afford it.

This is Brie's second year. She loves it. I love to hear her say words like tondu, and pliae, Words that I can't even spell.

The big boy....

A couple of days ago my baby boy turned 8 months old. This was a really emotional month for me. Here is why.....
He weaned himself from nursing. I think everybody knows that I am not a great nurser. He loved it though so I have grown to love it. I have felt so rejected because he wants nothing to do with me. I will try to nurse him and he just kind of smiles and looks around. I can hear him thinking 'Mom I'm good! Thanks though'. He even pushed me away one night. That was the worst. Why do I feel like this when usually I can't wait to be done?

He weaned himself from the binky. In the beginning I hated that he loved that binky. It was just one more thing for me to think about. But, he loved it so I would cart it around. I grew to love the look of him sucking on his binky. I thought it was so sweet. He would go to sleep so easily with his bink. He suddenly stopped wanting it. One day he literally took it out of his mouth and handed it to me.

Big sister started Kindergarten....That makes everything he does more emotional because I know how fast time is going to go by. Before I know it he will be starting Kindergarten.

He started moving around. He scoots. He gets up on his knees and crawls, then goes back to scooting. I think he likes it better. He can go from tummy, to knees, to bum really quick. HE IS INTO EVERYTHING!

I love watching him get big, but I hate it too.

Mostly I just love him!

Here are his stats:

28 inches long (80%)
18 Pounds (20%)
head-(70%)

***I have thought he was so chubby and he certainly looks healthy. The Dr. was worried because he is only in the 20% and is "tall" and his head is big. Really? I thought he was a chunk! Guess we better step up the calories!

Kindergarten!

Yes! It is true! The BIG day has come. Brielle has dreamed about this day for a year. She had new clothes, new shoes, new backpack, she was ready to go. This is last week before meet the teacher night. She was really nervous, but today she was calm as can be.

She picked out her necklace and earrings and bow and clothes and we were off to the bus stop. Now, I was hesitant for the bus but Brielle has watched her friends get on and off the bus since last year. She was so excited for her turn. There was no keeping her off that bus. Luckily she has one of her best friends to ride with.

Brielle and Sadie are in the same class this year. Mrs. Dykes. They are quite the pair...we will see how that goes.

Hope didn't know what to think. On the way to the bus stop she stopped and said "Mom wait, I don't have my barbie backpack" I think she thought that she was going. Then at the bus stop she kept saying "I go on the bus too". When Brielle got on the bus I said "say good bye to Brie" She said "we go get Brielle tomorrow?" I just laughed and told her we would get her later.
I think she was sad that she was leaving.

All the kindergartners going on the bus.

She was not sad one little bit, in fact couldn't wait.

To celebrate/mourn the first day of school we all went out to lunch. This really helped Hope and I was really happy I had planned to do this. She was so happy all day and I think I really just needed to be with her. She also seemed so much older to me. I think when Brie is around she plays the "little sister" role, and today she got to be the "big sister".

We couldn't wait for this bus to arrive. We waited and waited. We were all so excited to see it turn the corner.

And this is what greeted us. Look at that face! I think it says it all! She ran straight to me and gave me a HUGE hug.

Josh carried her home, and she thought that was special. It is pretty ironic that she starts her first year of school the same year as josh finishes his 19th and last year! She has no clue what she just started.

We made her a big heart shaped cookie with a 'k' for KINDERGARTEN! She was thrilled. She had a great day! Here are the highlights we received....

* They exercised at recess outside.
* They sat on the rug and had story time.
* They got animal crackers, but they won't always get animal crackers just today because it was the first day of school.
* She made a new friend named Abby
*She didn't have to pee all day, not at all.
* She didn't ask the bus driver if she could eat her snack on the bus because she didn't want to bug her.(probably a good thing!)
* She can't wait to go back tomorrow!

Our last Busch Gardens Hurray!

What can we say? We have sure loved having these tickets to Busch Gardens, unfortunately they ended yesterday. We threw in one last trip to celebrate the day before Brielle went to school. We had a great time.
Hope sported her purse the whole time. I have no clue why she felt like she needed it, or what was in it, but it was very important.

Rigdon and Josh on the sky ride

Hope and I on the sky ride. Don't mind the hair, it was a little windy!

Brielle has started insisting I take pictures of her to send to Utah....SO here it goes out to UTAH!

In line I was teaching Brie the nursery rhyme "Humpty Dumpty". After saying it a few times she asked "Mom why do they say GREAT fall? I'm sure it really wasn't that GREAT! Why don't they say BAD fall?" I was stunned. I didn't even know what to say.

Guess what I can do

This little boy has been hanging out with crazy lady Justice(6 mos. old and taking up to 5 steps) a little too much. Only 5 days after being back from Utah he started SCOOTING all over the place. He is 7 months old. He has 2 teeth as well. He got his first one at 6 mos. and the second at 7.

I now find him in all sorts of weird places. Under the chair was my favorite.

He even knows which basket has his toys in it!

He crawled through the table to get into this little nook.

And somehow he is always getting stuck under his bouncer.
